Coaching for Auditions:
I coach actors for auditions and roles. I have been breaking down scripts, interpreting roles, working with given circumstances, helping actors to understand meanings and make personal choices every day for the last twenty-two years. Even the most experienced actors can benefit from constructive collaboration. Coaching prepares the actor, gives the actor confidence, makes the actor the best that s/he can be. The confidence of preparation gives an actor the edge to get the job.
Coaching to Prepare for a Role and Maximize your Performance:
On a film set there is little time for rehearsal or preparation. An actor needs to walk onto the set completely prepared. When coaching an actor for a role, we do all the homework together. We dig into the work to make the performance personal, human, connected, satisfying, and powerful. Even if an actor has little technique, I will guide the actor where to look, and maximize their effort and confidence. I have a strong sense of the emotional values required by the role, and how the actor might best achieve a personal connection and create an impacting expression.
